Derma Wand® is a hand held device, which is purported to be a smaller replica of a corrective technology used by skincare professionals to assist individuals in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and the appearance of skin folds by using thermal energy. It is also suggested to be able to assist in easing other issues, such as enlarged pores and puffy eyes. Derma Wand® applies thermal energy and oxygen to the individual’s skin in order to augment "tissue warming," which may be purported to support the restoration of skin health. This technology looks great on paper, but there may not be research available to support its viability. This is a point that many consumer sites have raised, and it’s come to our attention that Derma Wand® has scored poorly on these sites, in terms of results and cost effectiveness.

HoodiaBites
HoodiaBites is one product we can get very excited about. This chewable form of 500mg of pure Hoodia features a great flavor and is by design, ultra portable! HoodiaBites are said to be very much like a candy and the makers use one of the highest concentrations of the Hoodia Cactus we have seen. One of the advantages to chews is the fact that may feel it is a more direct way for absorption. Additionally, the idea of being able to snack on a chew, at anytime, is more pleasing than just taking another diet capsule. The chewable bites are described as similar in texture to taffy and provide lasting natural appetite suppression. We were pleased to find that each chew is only a few calories and can be taken throughout the day to curb hunger on any diet. The product has done very well on the blogs and many are talking about the immediate effects and good taste. Read a Full review of HoodiaBites here.

Candace: When I first saw the commercial for DermaWand it looked a little strange, but it said it could do so much for the skin, seemed like a good technology, maybe better than just a simple cream. I have been using this now for about 4 months. The other products feel nice & all, but this wand does not seem to be doing anything. I don;t think I look one month younger, let alone 10 years.

EveMilton: When I was looking at it online the dermawand seemed safe and easy to use. I did everything I was supposed to, I watched the video and used the skin mist. I thought because I could feel a warm sensation that it was working. It has been almost four weeks and I can't say that I really see an improvement. I'm not sure this is the best product for me.

Vanessa: DermaWand...what a great idea...oxygen delivered right into my skin...just like a dermatologist would do...fancy little light, lots of creams and lotions to go along with it...how could it not work? Let me tell you. I tried this for a couple of weeks, and I swear, the only results I had were some sort of tracky looking marks where I'd put the light. It looked like a snail had walked across my face! Just what I needed...not! Now not only do I have all my OWN wrinkles, but I've got some other ones, too...well, not wrinkles, exactly, more like little red lines... DON'T USE THIS!

Johanna: Oh no, this could break on me in a month?? Does the company send you a new one or refund you for the DermaWand? I've been using mine for 2 weeks, and it seems a little weaker already, I hope it doesn't break.

Lucy: I do like the fact that the DermaWand is not causing any skin irritation or pimples so far, that i can tell. But i do feel somewhat disappointed in the results, or rather, lack of results. I thought i could feel it working, too, based on the warm senstation mentioned earlier, but it turns out that this feeling doesn't necessarily mean you are going to look different. Maybe I need to be more patient. I don't know. I thought it would be doing something by now.

Linnea: The Dermawand seemed "just crazy enough to work" but now it seems just crazy. It sort of burns and pinches at the same time, like a tiny fiery shock to my sensitive facial skin. I asked my doctor about it and she told me to throw the thing away immediately. I'm taking her advice and would recommend you all do the same.

Laura F: It felt nice at first, I sorta felt like I was a professional with my beauty routine. I was really into this DermaWand for about 6 or 7 weeks, but at that point, I was realizing I was not seeing any improvement at all. It seemed sorta pointless to continue going through with it. I haven't actually touched the thing in months. Not a good purchase.

Audrey: I hate what's happened to my face. I look in the mirror, and honestly, who is that looking back? I've had some plastic surgery on my eyes, but I swear, they're starting to look like little raisins sitting in rice pudding. It's (me!) not a pretty sight! I used to be so beautiful! And now, wrinkle central. So DermaWand seemed like it might work. After all, what did I have to lose? Well, it didn't. I still feel like putting black cloth over all my mirrors, and my biggest worry is how to not continue to pay for this thing without wrecking my credit. I'm tired of being taken advantage of by all these companies who try to trick us into a "quick fix". Plus, I'm still sad about how I look...now I have anger to add to my emotional broth! When will I learn?

Alexandria: The 30 day trial is misrepresented and the company is nothing but a scam. I wanted to return the derma wand after 2 weeks ad couldn't get a person on the line for 5 days and when I did she hardly spoke English and couldn't tell me where to send the package to or when my money would be restored to my card. I kept on calling and asking for manager and was often out on hold for more than 20 minutes. No one ever returned my emails. It's been more than 30 days now and I don't expect I will ever get my money back. I should have known better but I was just so desperate to have younger looking skin I acted rashly.

Brooke: Hi, I was hoping for some pointers... I was very excited about DermaWand when I ordered it last week, my main concern is the area around my eyes, and the results in the photos make it loook good. But i am a little afraid to use this so close to my eyes, is it really safe to use under them? How do I use this without hurting myself?

Judith: Well i also found the DermaWand to be unpleasant and a bit painful, and it caused some major irritation to my skin. So much for the idea of a non-irritating alternative to creams. One thing that's nice about it is because it's so cheap, you don't have to feel that guilty about chucking it in the trash.

Trisha: I felt kinda silly using this thing...I mean, it looks pretty weird to be dragging this odd piece of plastic across your face, buy hey, what price to look better, right? Wrong! DermaWand is a funky joke. It really didn't do anything for my skin, and I can't believe I wasted all the money on it that I did. Don't bother.

Jenny: I hoped the Dermawand would help to minimize my pores which look enormous lately. My skin is not improved and in fact looks dry and pink in places.

Miranda: Well, i had very high hopes for DermaWand, i suppose i thought it would be more powerful than your typical face cream or treatment. And yeah, like many of you, i didn't expect it to have any weird side effects. I was wrong on all counts. The first thing i noticed was that my skin smelled TERRIBLE after using this for the first time. I mean, it had this sickening metallic smell right away. I couldn't even wash that smell off bcs I think maybe it had been burned into my flesh or something. As far as the results are concenred, I just kept hoping and hoping that this would make a difference on my deep forehead lines, which are really severe. But the thing is, those lines probably need to be filled, and there's nothing to fill them with with this DermaWand. Now i feel so stupid. This purchase didn't even make sense.

Sabrina: Hey Brooke! You don't have to worry about using this around your eyes because it's not going to do a blessed thing! No fear about hurting your skin or your eyesight. I think this is basically a little flashlight done up in a sort of fancy package.

Audrina: The product is okay, I sort of like using the DermaWand, the way it massages my skin. I just am a little upset with the company's tactics, offering a 30-day trial, and I guess I misread the terms of purchase. I saw that I was getting something valued at $85, for $29.95. I should've read it more closely bcs I was billed $29.95 for 4 months! So I had to pay $120 for something valued at only $85!! That just doesn't make sense, I feel very cheated.

Esther: I have been using the dermawand for weeks and I do not see a difference. I thought if it could just diminish the fine lines so that my face appeared smoother overall I could live with the real wrinkles and bags. Does that make sense ? I wish that had happened. I dont have the money to waste right now and this is a big disappointment.

jpschneider: how long until i get results, i thought dermawand was instant but so far (5 weeks) i see no changes, still have the wrinkles & puffiness.

Robin: The other day a so-called friend called me "impressive", meaning I was really looking fat and puffy, but she didn't know how to put it. And my face is the worst of all. All that stuff about fat injections in your face? Ha! What I need to be able to do is shift some of it...away from my eyes, into my lips, and God, what about my neck??? DermaWand doesn't claim to move fat around (although you get the impression it could do just about anything from the ads), but at least maybe the lines would look softer? Or something? I tried it, gave it my best for 3 weeks, and had no results that I could tell. I wonder if there's such a thing as face lipo? Has anybody ever heard of such a thing? How would I find out?

Shelli: I RECEIVED MY DERMAWAND BROKEN ON 3/12/07, AND I HAVE PLACED 3 CUSTOMER SERVICE CALLS TO THIS COMPANY REQUESTING A CALL BACK, AND AS OF TODAY, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REPLY! THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPEREINCE FOR ME FROM BEGINNING TO END. I SAY "END" LOOSELY BCS THIS ORDEAL IS STILL NOT RESOLVED!

Jeanitte: the anti-wrinkle creams I was using weren't working and I can't afford/am terrified of surgery so that's out, the Derma Wand seemed like maybe a good alternative. I know I got a treatment like this at a spa once and I loved how my skin glowed afterward. When I tried my dermawand at home for the first time my skin didn't so much glow as looked shiny like it had been burned. that's how I feel now. burned. what can I do now???

Elisabeth: hmmm i should've known this wouldn't work when i noticed that the model demonstrating dermawand already had perfect skin. i was hopeful that perhaps she'd gotten that skin by usign this, but i am certain now that was not the case. my skin has not altered in the least from using this for nearly 6 months. complete waste of time & money.

beverly: Well, DermaLift does feel kind of nice, it's like a massage for your face...but as far as my skin looking "instantly lifted" like they say, I haven't noticed anything like taht. So I think maybe this might just be a nice little treat that feels good and maybe improves my circulation or somethig.. but i would not expect anything huge from it.

Rachel: DermaWand really tickles when I use it, I have not yet decided if I like it. It's hard to keep still for 3 minutes, it tickles so much, so I have been trying to use it for just one minute or so, and do several treatments. Maybe that's why I'm not seeing any changes yet, I don't know. I'll continue for as long as I can stand it (unless it breaks on me first)

littlemissmortified: I had forgotten all about the Derma Wand, ordered so many months ago and discarded just like my thighmaster and body shaping girdle suit. I had it stashed under my bathroom vanity where my children are not allowed but a few days ago I asked my oldest to bring me the first aid kit I keep in the medicine cabinet. Minutes later she comes out with the derma wand and it wasn't until just then when it was in my 12 years olds hand that I realized what it looked like. she Had is buzzing and was chasing her little brother around with kitchen with it. I managed to diffuse the situation with good humor and a snack distraction but when I went to examine the thing again in my room I had to wonder: did I order a vibrator instead of a derma-face-healing-skin thing? Perhaps that's why it did nothing for my crows feet and sagging under eyes...I would advise moms to go ahead and NOT buy the Derma Wand, unless you want to be totally humiliated by your children. Had a heck of a time explaining it to my husband later BTW...

Denise: The last time I went shopping I stopped at my usual Dior counter, and talked to a really nice lady who tried to help me choose what would be best for my skin. She was actually a year younger than me, but looked at LEAST 10 years older, which was pretty nice...anyway...maybe that's not so good when you're trying to sell expensive creams...is there a trick here I don't know about...anyway, again...so, we looked at a lot of what Dior had to offer, and spread it all over my hands and arm and it seemed pretty nice, but she really worked for Clarins so then we had to try all that, too...but you know what? It was all SO EXPENSIVE and I'd tried a lot of it before and none of it seemed to work so well... So I'd seen the ads for DermaWand, and it seemed like a different approach, and maybe one I should try. The payments didn't seem so bad. I have so many anyway, what's one more? I ordered it and am still hoping that it's going to do SOMETHING! I haven't seen any difference so far, and I'm so disappointed! I REALLY thought this would be the answer for me! What would the Dior/Clarins lady do? What should I do? Is it back to Nordstrom's? I'm about ready to throw in all these expensive towels....

April: Saw the Derma Wand on TV LATE one night and had the brilliant idea to spend the last 100 bucks form my refund on the device. I thought it seemed like science and I like the idea that I can do at home what my friends pay a lot to do at the salon. I dye my own hair and even make my own hand cream and that turns out well. This thing is scary! I really cannot believe that any woman would use this regularly. It stings it doesn't work it's weird. I don't know what I was thinking. and it sounds like getting my money back is not in the cards. Glad to know I'm not alone. But how silly we all have been !

bartonrg82: this dermawand thing has not been working, i thought something fancy like this would be beter than the antiwrinkle creams and such, but i just cant' seem to get this do much for my fine lines. maybe i'm using it wrong, its a hassle. i miihgt try a cream instead, though, if the wand doesnt do something soon. does anyone know of a good one.

Patti: OMG you are SO RIGHT! A vibrator! I never made the connection, but EWWW! I don't think I can put that DermaWand near my face ever again!!! GRoss.

Hailee: Well I think the Derma Wand is kind of fun to use. My sun damaged forehead looks less creased and crinkled and I think you are are being a little sensitive. what did you think this was???!1

andrea: Hahahah, you know, maybe the DermaWand really IS a vibrator in disguise!!! It does seem to be marketed toward mainly women, right?? Maybe we were supposed to understand the coded message...they do say it is for "relaxation or cosmetic use." yeah. "relaxation," wink wink! Maybe, since I've given up on this helping with my wrinkles, i will try it for relaxation.

Denise: DermaWand really IS a joke, isn't it? But, as littlemissmortified noticed, maybe there's an off-label use? Did I even say that? I hate to waste money, totally, which is certainly the case with trying to use it for wrinkles...I'm not even going to GO there!

Letha: This Dermawand seems like a good value to me, I cannot affort facials or massages, I like how it feels to use this. I have stopped using the hydra infusion however because it was irritating my skin. Perhaps that has slowed the progress, i cant say for sure, but i just cannot use something that causes itchiness. I'm sure if I keep this up I'll get there though.

Danni: the hydrating treatments that come with the Derma Wand are actually kind of nice. Not worth all the expense etc but a small redeeming aspect of this entire debacle.

Leslie: DermaWand just proves how silly we are! Those ad people really know what they're doing. What better way to sell a product to women who are of the "wrinkle age" than to shape it like a you know what! Desperate times call for desperate measures! Right? Wrong, intriguing shape or not, it doesn't work for wrinkles, and only leaves you feeling disappointed. This truly is a big fat joke on us all!

Kate: Was curious to try the device, seemed like a cheaper alternative to Botox, and said it used professional technology too. But I really don't like how it feels on my face, it doesn't tickle, it hurts. I've given up on Dermawand, and in fact just got a free trial sample of Bellaplex, an antiwrinkle cream, that feels much more smoothing on my skin, already. Probably should've went with this in the first place.

Nancy: Is it actually possible for oxygen to be delivered to the skin transdermally in this manner with the DermaWand? I'm not sure I don't know that Tissue Warming actually has the capacity to relax or fill in deep wrinkles. In light of innovations like collagen and other advanced dermal fillers, it's hard for me to understand the relevance of this technology. Could someone shed some light on this?

Christina: I bought the dermawand specifically for my eyes. Creams were not potent enough to treat the bags and wrinkles and lines and puffiness. I blame years of staying out too late, smoking and basking in the sun every morning after. I had a wonderful youth but am paying the price in my middle age. I no longer feel attractive or worthwhile. I know it sounds superficial but appearance matters to all of us. Even babies prefer pretty faces. I don't want to scare the grand children and I wouldn't mind a date with a nice man every now and then. The Derma Wand seemed like it might work on my eyes and since surgery is out of the question is was my last resort. I have been diligently working with it for weeks and think I see some improvement in the quality of skin around my eyes. I'm not saying it's instant gratification or a miracle but it's more than I got from department store high end lotions and potions so I'll keep working with it for a while. I like my reflection in the mirror a little bit better already.

Leslie: Ah ladies, what we fall for...DermaWand is the last in a long line of products that I'm going to try on my face. I mean, after all, we ARE going to get older, and maybe we should all just get a little gracious about it? I mean, I'm not going to stop being a blonde or anything radical, but maybe the idea of wiping out years of living from my face is not such a good idea? And besides, not really possible? Let's deal with what we can, like not getting fat, and taking good care of our fingernails...it's the overall look, after all. I think I'm going to live with the face I have, and not feel guilty about it.

Phoebe: What does the hydra infusion have in it, does anyone know, bcs it feels sorta sticky on my face and has caused several small bumps to form. I have not been able to find the list of ingredients, would like to know what could be causing this reaction. Thanks.

Eve: When i was a teen, my mom always used to tell me to stop touching my face, that i was only going to make my acne worse by spreading it around. Well, i am now into my second wave of humiliating acne at age 35, and this time i also have wrinkles. i didn't really consider that the DermaWand might have some negative implications in terms of the acne, but it really has caused my skin to become more oily, more irritated, and more eruptive. I have had 4 major breakouts since i started using this. I think all of that messing around with my face has had an unpleasant result, and I'm just gonna listen to my mom. I'm done with this.

Justine: If nothing else I expected the Derma Wand would stimulate my skin and it would appear brighter and more radiant. I could maybe live with the wrinkles if I looked a little fresher faced overall. Unfortunately I see no results so far. Maybe I should be glad nothing worse than nothing happened. This was my first foray into anti aging products so I am not quite totally disillusioned yet. I am willing to try a good cream if anyone here can recommend one...

Flame: I feel like I've walked into a therapy session! Thank you ladies, for giving me a good reality check! DermaWand seems to have really kicked us into high gear about how we look. Who knew that a disappointing product could turn out to be life changing/giving? Disappointment really is ok if it makes us look at ourselves. So thanks, DermaWand, for giving us a chance to look at what's really important. I guess there really are off label pluses to this worthless product...

Darcy: Using the Dermawand is the highlight of my day. Taking 5-10 minutes to pamper myself, really focus on just calming my skin & my mind puts me at ease, making me feel more centered & ready for the day. People are noticing a difference in my attitude, if not my skin specifically, and the most important part is that i feel good too.

KINDAGIRL!6: DERMA WAND IS ANOTHER PEACE OF GARBAGE FOR US TO WAIST OUR MONEY ON. AGE GRACEFULLY AND DON'T GIVE MONEY TO LIERS AND HATERS LIKE THEM!!!!!!!!

Diana: I don't know about you, but I'm not about to give up the aging fight. 50 is not death, for God's Sake! Has everybody seen Sex in the City (the movie, of course)? Look at Samantha! She really IS 50 and looks fabulous! So quit trying? Never! If DermaWand doesn't work, I'll bet you SOMETHING will!

Tara: DermaWand has also caused me to have breakouts, and it is VERY painful to use this over those areas of my face now. Should I stop using it? I want to get rid of the wrinkles but I don't know if this is worth it?

Suzanne: I've always kind of scoffed at the "As Seen on TV" junk that I see advertised, I used to think"what kind of sucker would EVER fall for this BS?" Well, as i learned, they just have to get you at the right time and the right place, at your most vulnerable. They got me. I'd been starting to feel so old and unattractive since turning 45, i feel invisible, like no one recognizes me as a woman. I recently went through a painful divorce that i won't go into detail about, and i was up with insomnia watching TV, and bam! DermaWand got me. I guess i figured, hey, theyve been selling these products for ages, maybe some of them really do work. Well, if any of these products work, I can say for sure that DermaWand DOESN'T. I tried it faithfully for 2 months, and nothing happened. Well one thing happened: I got myself up off the couch and started taking steps to control my life from the inside out. Which is great, but my skin doesn't look any younger. :(

Billie: My pores look smaller since using DermaWand, the skin feels tighter. I have been using it for about a month, am expecting this to continue to be a decent product, though I am a bit concerned now about the comments about the device breaking. Hopefully it wont.

Destiny: I also really appreciate all the support, reviews, honestly, etc I always find here. I did get turned on to a great diet aid so I am loyal to the collective voice here for ever. I also secretly, ashamedly bought the derma wand and I also had no luck with it. I hated it, in fact. I am now researching Botox and Restyaline (sp?) but thought i'd ask (please please please) about a beauty cream that maybe would help me in the mean time? thanks much. D

Casey: I'm not liking DermaWand, and here's why. First, I feel silly running a little light across my face. Second, I don't like the creams that came with it...they're all sticky and heavy and the smell is not so good. Third, it doesn't work. 'Nuff said.

Juanita Pratt: This is okay as a massager but not doing a thing for my wrinkles. I could never get my husband to massage my face for 3 minutes a day, its nice haveing the DermaWand handy, I think it helsp me to focus my mind.

francene: Hi casey, You raise an excellent point, the gooey creams, all of that junk, i bought DermaWant to GET AWAY From that stuff. And besides, if DermaWand is so great why do you have to use a cream at all? Plus, there's the instructional DVD, and blah balh. It's just so time consuming and annoying. I tried to stick with this but when i saw no difference after a month i just dropped it.

Peg: Since I realized after about 3 months of using DermaWand that it will probably never work for me, I have been looking into other face creams. I keep reading about Argireline for improving wrinkles, has anyone tried this? I've seen it in several products but am not sure which might be best.

margaret: My beauty routine takes so long every morning to apply makeup, etc and every evening to wash and tone and moisturize and mask I thought the Derma Wand might simplify my life. I am not stupid, and I don't think any of you are either. We know that nothing really lasting and dramatic could come form using a product such as this. But we hope. That's the key. I will keep trying to make it work and maybe some combination of it and the ideal anti aging cream and prayer will make it so that I don't always look tired and sad due to the lines.

Rochelle: I think exfoliating is very important, but I want to know if I'm going it! DermaWand actually made my face peel, but in a funky sort of way. You know when you use those face scrubs (and you know you can go cheap...you can even just use some oatmeal out of the cupboard if you're desperate and broke, which I usually am) and your face has sort of an all over bit of a glow because you've managed to take off the dead skin cells? Well, DermaWand took off some of the top layers of my skin, too, but in a really uneven way that is not the slightest bit attractive. I look like I'm peeling from a sunburn. Maybe I used it too long and didn't realize that little bitty light would cause damage? Seems like they shouldn't sell this stuff without a warning label.

tallulah: Derm Wand feels like a thousands million bee stings. And p.s. : did nothing for my skin. SOS...save our skin...

Cheryl: One more hype got me! DermaWand? Don't even bother! Let's face it, a wand does not turn you into Glinda the Good. More like it, we should look for the man behind the curtain...

Katherine: LADIES: PLEASE do NOt use the DermaWand for any, um, self-pleasure purposes! If you want help....relaxing, as someone very tactfully put it, try Orexia http://www.orexia.com/free

michelle: Well, i swore off creams after the last one i tried caused a bout of acne the likes of which i haven't seen since before i had a driver's license. So far I'm liking the DermaWand fine, it doesn't hurt and hasn't caused any irritation. I have to admit i havne't seen any lifting or firming yet but it has only been 2 weeks.

Kelly: I actually like DermaWand! I like it that it's affordable, I like it that I can use it whenever I want, and I'm starting to really like the results. I don't think you ladies have given in a fair try...you have to use it longer than it says you do, there's no such thing as instant...but if you keep using it for a month (or maybe a bit longer), I promise you, you'll like what you see. Don't give up!

jess: has ANYONE been able to get a refund for the dermawand? i have been making phone calls & writing emails, i cannot get through to the company, my 30 days is almost up.

KellyAnne: Someone mentioned the sickening "metallic" odor that the DermaWand causes on the skin...it was scary for me at first i thought something might have been wrong. It smelled like sickness. Eventually the smell went away as i stopped using the Dermawand. If this thing actually worked, i would be facing a tough decision right now. But since it doesn't work, I'm done. I couldn't stand that smell. The idea of kissing my boyfriend with that gross smelling face just makes me shudder.

Mikayla: I am looking for a good beauty product if that what this site is for I think I used the Derma Wand to have good skin again but it hurt me and I don't like it. Thanks for youre help.

Lynn: My skin feels softer & smoother since using DermaWand. My husband says he can' tell that I've been doing anything different but he never notices anything anyway. The important thing is that I notice.

Pammy: It was nice getting the "bonus" gifts with the Dermawand order, I'm glad I got to try them without actually paying for them. I don't think they're worth the price, but not too bad. No reactions to any of them, which is good, but nothing is really improving either, not yet anyway.

Linda: Well, maybe it's true, there is "no such thing as instant"...but the DermaWand does promise that "your skin will immediately respond with a lifted and contoured appearance." So according to them there IS such thing as "instant!" I feel taht these companies should be held to account for there claims. This doesn't work instantly, not even close. Why should i expect it to start working later, when it doesn't work when they say????

Karina: Well, whoever thinks that DermaWand is a good thing has far more patience and faith than I'll ever have! I'm sick of this whole gotta be young thing anyway, and having one more product not work is no surprise. Plus, the money I've spent over the years? I should have just taken a trip to Italy. It worked for Diane Lane, right? Other cultures appreciate a bit of experience! So let's get traveling, ladies, and not worry about what stupid American men think...let's be women of a certain age, and love ourselves again! Yeah!

Kit1990: Maybe when I'm 51 I'll learn that there are no quick fixes and miracle products. I can't do anything now, it's too late. I should have used sunscreen and took care of my skin when I was younger but I never cared a whit about my looks. Now I have a life I love but my face is a tragedy. I bought the DermaWand and showed it to the girl who does my makeup and hair for parties. She scoffed and told me it was bad news. I will have to make do with her makeup tricks and long weekends in the country.

Suzan: I'm with you, Karina! Let's pack, and throw DermaWand out a window on the way to the airport!

Claudia: This has been making my skin look healthier, I think, maybe from the light wave vibrations or something. I got my DermaWand 3 weeks ago and havve loved every day of using it, can't believe more of you don't feel this way.

Tanya: I feel that the Dermalift is a cheap piece of plastic. Not only did it not work but it broke almost right away, like within a week. I was able to return it thank god but it was an overall disappointment.

Tenille: Beauty takes work, and it really can be expensive to maintain a proper beauty routine as well. I very much appreciated seeing that DermaWand comes with several products & is affordable. I'm not gonna go & say its the best product ever invented, but it is good & is working just fine for me.

Kendra: Yeah, what about that refund? My 30 days IS up, and I never heard from those toads. And I'm really fed up. DermaWand is a total rip-off...do you know of any sort of agency we could report this scam to? I've about had it with all these companies that take advantage of all of us.

Julie: well i was NOT able to get a return on the dermaWand....Tanya i would like to know how you did it. I contacted this company twice and received no response! ! VERY disappointing. i think this company is unethical.

Ruth: Well DermaWand is definitely dooing something to my skin, probbably taking off the dead skin cells. I've noticed that my skin is VERY sensitive to the sun, so I just have to be careful to slather on the sunscreen before I step outdoors. I was accustomed to using SPF10 or 15 on a daily basis, I use 45 now, so you just gotta be prepared for that.

Elsa: I'm so sorry I ever started using DermaWand. My hopes were high, the product is low, and I'm still looking at my old self in a way I don't like. I hate how I look, and have to do something about it, pronto. My 25th high school reunion is coming up, and I want to outshine all those girls that were the cheerleader set...what am I going go do? Suggestions?

MrsTalmidge: okay: let's talk about facts and actual results. It's time to be objective. I used the DermaWand every other fay for 2 months. I otherwise did not change my beauty routine at all. I continued to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated and got my usual amount of sleep (6 hours a night). My eyebrows do not appear lifted. My pores are no smaller. Laugh lines are still very visible. Eyes still puffy. The lines on my forehead are a little improved, e.g., softer-looking If I were to grade this product I would give it a D.

Bev: I think that really good make-up is the answer. DermaWand isn't. I'm going to try some of those products that have minerals. It's bound to be cheaper than DermaWand, and perhaps will work?

Eleanor: Earlier someone mentioned a product called Bellaplex, I just read a review on it on this site, it seems to have worked well for a quite a few women. I just signed up for a free trial, it can't hurt. I have just not been seeing the results with DermaWand, even though I follow the instructions. I thought the device would be the best way to go, but now I'm ready to place my bets on this cream instead.

helen: I found this site when i was just doing some routine Googling for a beauty cream....I never knew there was a cool resource like this site. Very helpful. When I saw that you guys had reviewed my arch-nemesis the DermaWand, i HAD to see what you all thought. I'm SO glad we're on the same page about this shitty glorified vibrator...otherwise, i might not have been able to trust you! This thing caused irritation puffiness, zits, and a whole host of other issues, and i could not send the thing back either. It went out with the trash long ago. Anyway, just wanted to add my two cents to this, now I'm going to continue browsing your reviews for a holy grail face cream. thanks, keep up the good work! Helen

marcy: IS everyone clear that Derma Wand doesn't WoRK? right. good. let's move forward. what does work? Anything? I need answers, now. And not Botox or surgery. I won't go there. There must be a good cream for women over 40? I am sure we can figure out something. For now can we agree to stop wasting money on bs products like this? good.

GRACE: Mrs.Talmidge - You are being awfully generous with a grade of D. I would give it an F, bcs not only did the DermaWand itself not fulfill all the promises, the company failed to come through with the refund as well. This product should be taken off the market.

Megan: Beauty's only skin deep, right? Whoever made that one up isn't living where I live! Just try not looking perfect in Malibu! Ha and ha! Even if you're just wandering into Ralph's in the Colony, you still have to look adorable. It's very stressful if you're past about 25, say. I thought DermaWand would help me get back some of my outer beauty, 'cause that's what I want to have happen. Nope and nada and nothing. I'm better off buying something at Bloomie's...practically anything, it seems has better results than DermaWand.

Gigi: I'm a Botox devotee and a collagen junkie. I firmly believe that collagen is the key and if I could find it in a formula I would happily try it. Derma Wand was given to me from a coworker and I thought it was a gag gift...she really thought I would use it and it was very awkward for everyone involved. gift cards are really the only appropriate workplace gift, in my opinion.

Rita: My DermaWand gets really hot after 2 minutes, this started happening after the first week of using it. Is this normal or should I send it back for a new one?

genevieve: ew, gross. I don't care if this is neck massager or skin firmer or whatever...its' totally tacky and obviously not a credible medical device.

janette: Good point, Marcy, suffice to say that I also tried it and hated it. But moving on, I've found that Bellaplex is an excellent anti-aging cream. I've been using it for 6 weeks now & i've definitely noticed a smoothing of my deep wrinkles and an overall tightening of my skin. Plus it absorbs beautifully, doesn't clog pores or cause acne, and a jar goes a long way and i have seen major changes to my skin. An HG must-have!

Chris: Maybe, just maybe, DermaWand is going to be my answer to wrinkles! I'm thinking that I look better...it does take longer than you might like, but it seems to be making my skin look better. I'm not totally sold, and maybe it's just because I've been cleansing better before I use it, but I'm feeling cautiously positive.

Traci: Ha well, I should say that I have some success with DermaWand, considering I have had it for 5 months and it HAS NOT BROKEN. Guess I got one of the good eggs. Of course, i don't use it every day anymore, only a couple of times a week, its too time consuming.

Anna: I am not going to say it doesn't work because, who knows maybe some woman out there really likes it and is afraid to speak up, but in my experience the derma wand made a lot of noise and signified nothing. no better skin, no self-esteem. baloney.

Marilyn: I'm going to continue using DermaWand for awhile longer. I think it's starting to help some of my finer lines...not so sure about those lines around my mouth, but then, they're really bad. Might even be too late for Restylane for those...ah, well.

Kerry: This has not been the little wonder wand I was hoping for, I had deluded images of the DermaWand being like a fairy, making my skin lift, firm & shine, instantly making me look years younger. I wouldn't say its making me look younger, but I do see some improvements in my skin, mainly my pores. Not what I was hoping for but better than nothing.

Bernadette: I thought I was using DermaWand incorrecty and that's why I had 0 results. So typical to blame myself. goo to hear it's not just me...

Jill: I will say it: IT DOESN"T WORK!! I used it for 6 MONTHS hoping it would start to do its job, and it did NOTHING AT ALL FOR ME. On the plus side i never got breakouts or the other negative effects you describe, but what's the point? It didn't deliver.

Adrienne: The Dermawand is not as fast as they say in the ads, it does not provide an "instant" face lift, but if your patient with it, it does help smooth the skin, at least, it has for me. It's taken two months to get to where I;m at with my skin but I am finally seeing a slight improvement.

Isabelle: I liked the way the DermaWand felt (on my FACE, you dirty girls!), it was very soothing kind of like how they massage your face when u get a facial. But like so so many of you have said, I didn't notice any changes to my wrinkles or the extremely loose skin near my jawline and chin. So i would have to call this a failure, since it didn't do waht it was supposed to do.

Maryanne: the derma wand is cheaper and less invasive than a procedure and I was willing to try it but now I don't know. It sounds like maybe it's a waste of money but honestly I have never had much success with serums and things. Not sure what to do at this point.

Veronica: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MAGIC "WAND" THIS IS A BOGUS PRODUCT FOR PEOPLE WHO STILL BELIEVE IN FAIRY TALES! DONT WAST UR TIME ON THE DERMAWAND.

Becky: Not a good purchase, the DermaWand was most definitely an impulse buy that I should've stopped. I was just so convinced by the commercial, it seemed simple to use, yet really effective. Unfortunately, the device broke after 5 weeks, and the other products ran out shortly after. Waste of money. Think I might be looking for a cream now instead, there are so many different brands around. What's a good one, I have no idea where to even start loooking.

catelyn: I'm pretty sure this DermaWand is just a weak substitute for for a real laser treatment for wrinkles. I've tried it for a few weeks now and there has been no difference that i could see. none at all.

Emma: So I made the mistake of adding the eye cream onto my purchase of DermaWand, thinking it would give an extra boost for improving my eyes. Instead of the decrease in lines & wrinkles I was looking for, it dried out my skin, causing some of it to flake off! I was a mess for several days, the cream is too thick & very drying, I never had that experience before. It made the whole Dermawand thing far from enjoyable.

rochelle: I do like the idea of oxygenating my skin or whatever, but I'm not sure I quite understand how that relates to wrinkles. Does that work as well as a filler like Collagen? I had a few collagen injections before and they worked amazing but i couldn't keep buying them. So far the DermaWand is iffy....it does feel kinda nice but i don't think its filling my wrinkles. anybody know of a good collagen cream?

Lindsay W: Where I live plastic surgery is not at all typical. I am actually considered the fashiony one among the other moms because I had Ugg boots and Crocs before anyone. I was looking to do a little preventative/maintainance work on my 37 year old face before I startet to look too much like my mother (sorry mom, I love ya but I dont want to look likeyou) and bought Derma Wand because I thought at the very least it would make a funny story. I didn't even get that satisfaction! It never arrived at my house! And despite living in the "boonies" that has never been an issue before with anything I order from the net. So, since it doesn't seem like this is going to work out can anyone recommend a good beauty cream. It has to be something online since I am miles and days away from any store better than a Walmart...we don't even have a TJMAxx like my sister has...sigh from a lonely beauty babe in Ohio

Martina: This is the LAST TIME I try some laser device on my own, I didn't feel like it was ever working but kept thinking that if I gave it some time, it would begin to show its stuff. I waited for 6 months, I'm done with this now. Maybe a wrinkle cream really is the way to go, if there's a good one around.

Briarton: I think the Derma Wand is good for dead skin cells and making my face look a little brighter but not doing anything to lift or firm as I think the commercials mentioned, which is why I bothered in the first place. And I hate that I keep seeing charge on my statement every month. I am becoming concerned that this company is just about stealing as much money as they can. Has anyone reported them to the better business bureau?

danielle: i thought the way it felt was unpleasant ...the DermaWand pinched and burned and didn't change the way my skin looked in the least.

Tessa: Have also been disappointed with teh DermaWand, but I saw that several people mentioned Bellaplex, so I looked it up. I signed up for a free trial (http://www.bellaplex.com/magazine ) and am hooked on this now! My skin has a healthy glow to it, I have stopped using blush & use less foundation. Much better product, I say, go for the cream wiht proven ingredients over a cheap device like this.

Chloe: So some people hav said that this is affordable, I say DermaWand is OVErLY expensive. Whatever they say about the technology, it is a CHEAPLY made product that we pay a high price for. I'm just pissed that mine didn't break within that 30 day period or I (maybe) could've gotten my money back. It broke after 6 weeks so I was stuck paying for it for several more months. Total scam.

melodie: I've read that complaints have been filed against DermaWand for "misleading and Unsubstantiated " claims in the ads. This was found to be in breach of ITC codes rules 5.1, 5.2.1, 8.1.1 and 5.4.6. But i guess there still allowed to sell it. Buyer beware!

Karin: Obviously an ad for Bellaplex. The Derma Wand works great. I purchased mine from http://www.dermawand.net

Allimeg: I wanted to have a termage treatment, but it would cost $1,800, so I decided to try the dermawand. I've had mine for a few days and I think my eyes are less puffy and my brows are a little more lifted. It's not going to erase 50 years of age and exposure, but I think I look better and I will keep mine. I just hope it doesn't break.

Debbie: VERY disappointed with my DermaWand. I liked it okay at first, I thought the massage felt nice, but I used it daily for almost two months, and never saw much improvement in the way my skin looked. I used it for that long, just to see if it would ever change, it never did. I put it away, then just the other day, after not using it for about 5 or 6 weeks, I took it out, thinking maybe I would give it another go, and it wouldn't turn on! Too late to send it back now.

Eva: You guys have GOT to be kidding!!! I have used this ONCE and notice a HUGH difference. The sagging, crapeyness of my neck has almost completely disappeared. My face looks great - softer and smoother. It seems to have plumpled up and smoothed everything out...after ONE use. I even used it on the top of my hands and they look MUCH smoother and fuller. You guys are NUTS!!! This thing REALLY works. I LOVE it!!! First of all...all the complaints sound like they're written by the same person. The massage does NOT feel great...it feels like nothing. I have no idea what these people are talking about. All the comments are stupid and don't sound like they're coming from anyone who has even tried the DermaWand. I suggest you get and use and keep using it...like I am going to do. LOVE IT!!!

Astrid: DermaWand? Work? I don't think so! I think it's one of the biggest scams going, and that any improvement anyone sees is strictly wishful thinking! I mean, we're all feeling a little desperate if we're looking at something like this to work magic, and sad to say, sometimes that need to look younger tricks us with results that aren't really there...sort of like the Emperor that was really naked? Remember that story? Everybody kept telling him he looked better in his beautiful new clothes than he ever had before, but he really wasn't wearing anything at all. I think it's the same with DermaWand...if you want to believe that you look beautiful after using it, that's fine, but look for the truth...it probably isn't as pretty a picture as you'd want. Sorry, I'm a thumbs down on this one. Wished I read this before I bought one.

Gloria: Hello this is Gloria I have gotten a number of calls today from women asking me about the dermalwand vs the SkinLift Light. They wanted to clear up some confusion. I have been a licensed cosmetician, estetician and instructor for the past 30 years. Their question is; if my SkinLift Light is from the same company as dermalwand, "No." And if my Light gives off ozone. The answer again is, "No." It does not. This Light technology stimulates collagen and elastin and increases lymph circulation, giving cells extra energy to repair themselves. This allows the cells to fill in lines and wrinkles, giving a younger look. The pores are also refined. We all need light to feed our cell so they can do their work. Light to them is a food as light is a food for plants. Love and Light Is the dermalwand like the High Frequency wand we use in the facial to sanitize the skin after cleaning and removing black heads? The High Frequency wand does create a small amount of ozone. We never used High Frequency to lift or firm the skin.

jan: When i saw the informercial i thought wow this seems great so i ordered it and tried it for 2 weeks and the only area i saw a difference was it smoothed out the forehead lines, the rest of the face really didn't change except i notice a couple extra lines on my face that wasn't there before. The cream is not so great either. I packed the derma wand up and mailed it back. To bad i had high hopes on this one.

Kathy: I love this, I think allot of these comments are fake because it works. it worked the first time I used it!!!! I'm 34 and just have a few fine lines but it smoothes them out and lasts for about a day.

Katelyn: Now I am sooo confused. So many thumbs down here for the Dermawand.. And other sites I've seen good comments for this item.. Gosh if people can't be honest, why bother?? Now I'm going to have to continue to search for legit opinions on this item since so few here seem real or honest..

alexandra: I purchased the derma wand and just after a few treatments my son asked me if I had had plastic surgery. I had to laugh, I'm not sure if it was the derma wand or if it was an eyecream that I purchased from youthology. I have been applying that every morning and it really tightens the skin under my eyes. Anyway just not real sure about the derma wand.

Cynthia: Well, I must say all the thumbs down posted here....well, are pretty intimidating. But, here it goes...Well Girls,it works for me!!!!! I have used the wand either once a day for 10 minutes or twice a day at 5 minute intervals (am/pm). The results: My skin is tighter, alot less red on my cheeks and around my nose, my eyes are lifted and my skin is (really)softer. I have been using the Dermawand for 3 1/2 months now and I love the results!!! I think in this age of instant gratification people tend to be impatient...we all do want the quick fix. If the quick results and quick fix is what you want the I suggest Botox, and dermal fillers. I am a surgery nurse and have worked in plastic surgery for a good number of years and honestly this product works!!! I wear no foundation and I do get consistant comments that my skin looks great, (no, I haven't had a facelift and I had a very light chemical peel as an office demonstration six years ago) alot of people are suprised that I am 43, when they usually quess early to mid 30's. So, I am a happy camper...atleast for now!!! I will tell you that I don't use their face care products... I used either aloe vera or a creamy light lifting cream when using the wand. I have noticed that in all the "reviews" of the Dermawand that these different sites pan the Dermawand and suggest the Bellaplex....Ummmm, ironic isn't it? My skin has improved, it is firmer, brighter and soft. My jawline does look better. Good Luck and Good Hunting!!!

jd copley: For "tough" skin dermawand is the best. My skin can take whatever harsh skin regimen I use. I apply dermitage antiwrinkle eye and dermitage facelift to the appropriate areas and use my dermawand like crazy.Crows feet are gone for the first time in 20 years(I am 60). Deep lines around mouth and chin are better now than when I tried restylane. Moderate neck creases are much improved. I don't know if dermawand increases absorption of wrinkle cream or what. I'm into the science of anti-ageing creams and only tried dermand thinking it was a wierd gimmick. Don't know why it works, but on my tough old skin it's a miracle-worker AND I saw dramatic results in 2 days.

Carrie H: Are you kidding me? All of you actually BOUGHT that thing? The infomercial is such a joke! HAHA, you can totally tell those women are holding up there eyebrows with their facial muscles.. lol.. You shouldn't be so vain, you'd save a ton of money.

Kathy K.: I am grateful for all of the postings, I almost got hooked into buying the DermaWand. I believe a little proactive treatment never hurts. I am 57 years young and I attribute it to using good facial products. I would highly recommend using Philosophy

Annie R.: after the first use of the wand i saw greas resaults. The scret i found was to use very warm water to soften the skin then use the pre face and start the use of the wand. i am 52 and people say i look like im 32 i love the derma wand. ladies it works but you have to find your own hints with it like i did with the warming water firts good luck thank you derma wand. my mom, and friends are very happy with their wand too.again thank you i look beatiful.

Jane W.: Question for Katelyn and all you others who have suggested that anyone who doesn't like the Derma Wand is either "fake" or "dishonest": how do we know that YOU are not the FAKE and DISHONEST one??? It seems to me that there would be more incentive to say fake GOOD things about this product (for example, you are either a salesperson/distributor in disguise) than to say fake BAD things about it. I am very much a real, honest person, and I thought the Derma Wand was a piece of crap. All it did was tire my arm from holding it, and made my skin smell disgusting. I really do not appreciate this kind of bullying that says "either you like this, or you are either a liar or a fake person." I thought we lived in a free country where people could have whatever opinion they want. Well, this is mine, and it's as real as yours.

Daisy F: I was on the point of buying the dermawand today; seeing that I've got nothing to lose with the money back guarantee. God must have somehow intervened and I happened onto this website by chance and read some of the comments. Thanks a million to all of you who posted. You saved me a lot of heartache and trouble of returning a possible non-functioning product and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God bless you.

Rose: I love my Derma Wand. I am 53 years old and started using the Derma Wand this week and I already see results!! There's something very strange that so many women has giving it poor reviews. I do not work for Derma Wand. My husband who is a truck driver he noticed the difference. My face does not look tired, my eyes are brighter, my brows are lifted. I took a before and after picture and I am totally amazed with the results. I am so happy that I did not let all the negative reviews stop me from buying my Derma Wand.

susie: well it sounds like some people are happy, some are not. i really do hope all this *anger* can calm down, since it's not really helping, is it? We all want the same thing, or at least we all have the same beauty goal. Rose, can you post your before-and-after pic? I think they let you do that here, they just check it over to make sure there's been no photo-shopping or other tampering around.

nancy: Well, i do understand why maybe some of you are bewildered at the anger you're seeing on this blog, but the thing is, it is so FRUSTRATING to be *taken advantage of* by a company like this just becuase you want to look young and pretty again. I used the Dermawand for over a month (until it broke) and I never saw any changes at all. I mean NOTHING. I was expecting such great things, it sounds like a "magic" wand, but it is just a trick being played on insecure women. Thumb DOWN.

Rose: Hello, Susie I will be more than happy to summit my photo's!!! Today I had a Doctor's appointment and I received so many compliments. I love my Derma Wand!!

katie: Well all i know is the Derma Wand didn't do anything for my skin except cause irritation. MY before/after pics would look more like Before/Before pics. This product is just one of those dumb "as seen on TV" miracle products like the spray-on hair for bald guys, LOL..yes, i know, I am kind of making fun of myself for buying this but its either laugh or cry girls..i chose to laugh

Tammy: Well all I have to say is that I had ordered my dermawand on a Sunday, I recieved it by Friday and used it 4 days until it broke. I did notice a difference the first time I used it. I'm 44 and have adult acne, it was already starting to clear my skin up. I called them and let them know that it broke and they are sending me a replacement. I'm going to continue to use my dermawand and see what happens.

Shellie: Well its kind of surprising that you give this a thumbs up, Tammy considering your experience with the DermaWand. Maybe it's because they are sending you a new one? That's always nice, makes you feel like you got something extra, but the fun wears off after you've broken 3 of them, lilke i did. I got 1 replacement free of charge, the second 2 i foolishily bought with my own money. And ALWAYS The DermaWands broke within 2 weeks...often, closer to 1 week. Anyway, i really never noticed any improvement to my skin either. oh well.

Tammy: Hi Shellie, I'm hoping that the second one doesnt break, it's on its way now. If that one breaks I will send it back and get a refund. I really did start to notice improvements. I've tried everything to get my skin to clear up, even pro-active and nothing was working.

Shellie: Oh well if your looking for a way to clear up your acne, Tammy, try the Healthy Pores. It's a 3-step system designed specifically for female skin..I learned about it on this blog, and its actually ranked much higher than DermWand. Good luck.

Tammy: I just recieved my second one yesterday, I'm going to try it first and if that doesnt work, I'll take you up on your suggestion. Thanks Shellie!

Tammy: Ok, I've used my replacement for about 2 weeks now and I really have to say that this thing rawks! I have noticed such an improvment on my acne and my fine lines. I cant stop looking at my skin in the mirror!

Ella: dermawand just made my face into Rosacea central (all red and raw looking) and even caused me to get a nasty cold sore that wouldnt go away for a week *(and I had to face my inlaws!), I gave the Dermawand a fair shot but it didn't help with the deep wrinkles or fine lines it just irritated. i started on Hydroxatone a few weeks back and i am already seeing much better results.

joyceelaine60@yahoo.com: i will buy any ones dermawand that is not broken at a reasonable price.

JaimeInKent: Wow! I'm totally shocked by all the neg comments! Honestly, I love the thing. Can't live without it. I'm 31, don't have any wrinkles at all but I have my mom and grandmothers "chipmunk" cheeks and what they call "bulldog" lines at the sides of my mouth. I've noticed those lines, which have always been there, are a little more pronounced. I bought the DermaWand and used it to smooth out the the lines around my cheek and nose and it worked (temp) first time out of the box. I had to use the lowest setting (settings go from 1-9) for a few days but now I'm on 9 and there is no pain. Even when I first used it didn't hurt as bad as most of you had written. Maybe you had it turned all the way up? You get used to the sensation. I never watched the DVD. When I use it I use clinique moisturizer because the gel ran out and I prefer my moisturizer anyway and it last longer. I pull up on my "wrinkles" and apply firm (but not too hard) pressure and iron out those bad boys. I just go over and over them in an upward vertical motion. Also, I use it longer than they say to. I could spend a good ten minutes just running it all over my face. Plus, my skin feels softer and my pore size decreased. So, needless to say, I'm confused by all these neg comments and I'm so very sorry it isn't working the way you hoped it would. Oh! and bonus, they only charged me for the first payment. They kept calling saying the needed to talk to me about my account and I figured they wanted to sell me something else so I screened the calls. Looking back at my bank statements I can see now why they were calling. :) Since the DermaWand isn't working for all of you and you're all so damn disappointed I don't feel too bad about not paying full price.

jimettainkentucky: I have only just received mine today and I hope I have great results with it. I will be 49 in February and have pretty good skin without a lot of wrinkles, but want to prevent any more. I highly reccommend any face cream with collagen. I have been using a product made by Puritan's Pride that is very cheap and the two main ingredients are collagen and placenta. I have seen a big differenc in the last two months. Wish me luck.

JuliaStay@homeMom: I have to agree with most here : DermaWand sucked. It did nothing to improve my skin in any ways. 2 thumb down!

Faith: I just almost ordered the dermawand until I read all of the comments on this product and boy, am I glad I didn't waste my money!

Tammy: Well all I have to say is that it has been working great for me. I have now been using it for a month straight, I use it like they say to in the DVD and have had nothing but great results. It sounds like to me that you guys want results on the same day and just give up. You do have to give it a week or more before you see improvement.

arlene: Well, I think you might be right about the collagen, "jim/etta in kentucky," but i don't know how i feel about the placenta. I don't mean to judge. I read about a good skin cream called Bellaplex that has collagen and its really highly rated on this site. Might have to try that.

debby: UGH DERMAWAND WAS WORHTLESS AND IT CAUSED SEVERE REDNESS AND RASH ON MY FACE AND THEN IT BROKE. THUMB DOWN!

Carole Sullenberger: I ordered DermaWand in August, worked great, but broke within a short time. Have a postal receipt that DermaWand received it 10/24/08 and was told they would immediately reship a new one. Was told twice they had reshipped it, questioned their ship dates because far too much time had passed and then their operators came back on the phone and said oh, they had meant to say they had back ordered it. It has been over two months since they received the broken DermaWand. Am stopping the charge on my credit card and protesting the charges already made. Anyone know what branch of the Better Business Bureau to contact? What a rip off! DermaWand violates the UCC, blatently lies to their customers, takes your money while producing nothing in exchange for it!

stephanie: Carole, I had a VERY similar thing happen with DermaWand, still waiting on my re-ship, but if you do get a number for the BBB please do pass it along. I was on their website and there's an online form but it's tough to find a number. good luck.

lucy ames: Well the last thing i want is for anyone to reship this lousy piece of cheap equipment back to me! Once was bad enough for rubbing my skin raw and causing a breakout without doing anything good!

Jill: DermaWand - I wish I had done a little research prior to purchasing his piece of crap. I'm 40 and have never had a pimple in m life until now. My entire face is broken out in little red bumps and it itches terribly! No positive results at all! Flat out scam product. I'd rather have my "smile lines" than a red itchy face any day.

Dora: Ive used the derma wand on and off for about a year. I had stopped using it for awhile because I got lazy I didn't notice a difference except for between the brows, I had less brow lines. but my friend did. She asked me what I had done different that the last time she had seen me I had looked refreshed and my skin looked smooth. So I guess it's changed since I've stopped using it. I'm going to start using it regularly again.

ruby: The DermaWand broke shortly after purchase, i was able to contact the company for a replacement, shipped back the broken apparatus and ddid receive a new one in a timely fashion. However, the new one didn't seem to work. It also caused my skin to become raw and irritated. It seems that even when its functioning properly, it doesn't have the capability to do much for your skin, esp. the wrinkles. now i suppose i am stuck with it.

gayleinnorthcarolina: Ladies, I wish to thank all of you for your comments on Dermawand. I was on the verge of ordering one of these contraptions until I ran across this website. I'm a health care worker and should know better! At the bottom of the comment list there are these words: May not have proven technology - May not have clinical studies to prove it's effectiveness. That's enough for me. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. I'll just stick to what I've been doing for years facial massage with a combination of jojoba and 14,000 IU of pure vitamin E. I'm 60 years old but all my co-workers think I'm about 45. I do have fine lines and know that I can't stop the aging process but it sure is fun and relaxing to do my home spas on a regular basis. Thanks again for the money-saving advice.

Martha D: DermaWand - I've tried so hard to get a replacement from the company who goes by the name ICTV. I can't get in touch with anyone and have not received a replacement. I feel I have been conned and if you have problems like this too I think we should all go and report these scoundrels to the BBB.

Jim C: I'm a guy who also got duped along with all of you women. My facial skin is beginning to slacken, so I thought, what the hell, I'll try it. Big mistake, and expensive, too. I disputed the purchase as fraudulent merchandise using misleading sales tactics to my credit card company, but they still kept billing for it, so I reported the card lost/stolen and got a new account number. I don't care what DermaWand reports to the credit bureaus, they're scam artists and won't be getting another dime of my money.

Gia: Keep in mind that DermaWand is 'temporary' sort of like the 'sudden change products.' It creates a temporary redection in wrinkles, etc. I haven't used it, but I have viewed the product promoted on shopping channels. If you are trying to look younger try something similar to botox

Ren: I got the Derma Wand and they continued to bill me for 4 months and now I am unable to get hold of the customer service as all numbers are not in service. Is this company still operating???????????????????????

Mazzey: I appreciate my Dermawand and find it a very usefull tool in my facials. Dermawand has accelerated the toning of my skin. No single item makes for improved skin. I have follow a good routine of cleansing, moisturising and using sunblock over the past few months. My skin was improving at a noticeable pace. After introducing the Dermawand my skin tone, pore size and general look is improving faster. I think the Dermawand is fixing something that my creams were so good at targeting. I bought the wand cheap from an auction site. There were no other products with it. I use home made creams with similar actives to expensive brands. It appears to me that the Dermawand is a form of high frequency application. HF is supposed to allow better product penetration and stimulates the skin to improve circulation. At 51yo I HAD oily blemished skin and mild acne. By using a good cleanser, good quality moisturizer and serums anyone that has skin problems will see some benifit. The Dermawand has hastened the effect within the first week. Dermawand does list it products ingredients. Their moisturizer contains Green and White tea leaf extract and grape seed extract. Some expensive brands also rely on these extracts. I don't follow their lift application. It stretches some muscles the wrong way. Dermawand is a terrific tool to add to a targeted skincare regime.

cherryici: i have had my dermawand for about 6 weeks now. I have only been using it every other day (after i got it home i was a lil afraid of the whole sparking thing and didnt want to get burned) and i really have noticed a difference. i have suffered from adult acne for about 15 years if not longer. I tried all the acne treatments on the market and they never worked without burning the top layer of skin from my face...leaving me looking older than i really am and like a peeling mess. I have actually noticed that my skin is tighter and the acne bumps have gone away. every so often i will see a lil cluster of bumps (as usual) trying to come up and i just use my wand once a day for a bout 2 to 3 days straight and they just seem to go away...usually they would hang around and turn into these big! swollen! ewww! (you know what i mean)but not after i hit em with my dermawand I will admit... havent seen any improvement on the eyebrow area...dont do it too often in that area...too close to the eye for my tastes. But when it comes to the overall appearance of my skin...smooth...soft...supple...Finally!!!...I love it...I love my derma wand.

Brandy: My skin has no wrinkles- I bought this to reduce pore size. It does reduce their appearance for about 12 hours. It always evens out my complexion tone. I have not tried this for wrinkles as I don't have any yet (31 yrs). Just use a light moisturizer beforehand...and after as well. I hate the hydra cream it came with because it has oil in it...it gave me acne pimples. So I use my own stuff. My skin is healthier, moister, and more even. Use it faithfully every 12 hours.

Betty: Ordered this off a TV shopping channel. They made it look wonderful. I used it faithfully for 2 weeks.......saw absolutely no difference. I used the products they sent with it, and they were not good. That Dermawand kept skipping and over my skin, it did not glide like it was supposed to. Said use a good moisturizer of your choice, but we recommend our products. Was very disappointed, when I went to return it, they told me I should have given it more time. I even cranked it up to 9 the last week, and had it on 3 for my eye area. I would like to see more research on this product.

Mila: I've had a terrible experience with Derma Wand. I bought it to lift my upper eye area which was slightly sagging. I followed the directions but didn't see any noticeable lift, so after 5-6 months, I stopped. Then, to my horror, around 4 months after, I started seeing noticeable sagging and wrinkling of my upper eye area, just below the brow. The Derma Wand must have either stretched out the skin, or burned away some collogen--or both! I wish I could say that I have just lost my money and have seen no results, but in my case I look worse now than before. The people who like this horrid product seem to be mostly new users. I shudder to think of others who will find that they look worse months after they stop using it, especially if they are using it to firm up their skin. My upper eye area was just slightly saggy before Derma Wand, but now it is very saggy and I look older, not younger. I think a class action suite should be filed against this manufacturer. At least I'd get my money back, along with all the others who have been ripped off. However, how do I fix the DAMAGE that Derma Wand has done to my upper eye area???

Anonymous: I've used this religiously before and my skin's texture improved. It became more supple and has a glow to it and helps with acne if you zap them. However, I didn't see any result in terms of removing fine lines. And what's worse, facial hair started to grow!!!

angel: Love Love the Derma Wand - I'm 54 and have seen a great improvement in the texture of my skin. It hasn't done anything for the saggy skin, but I feel that's because of the muscles under the skin need toning. I have seen some tightness in the skin. If you use the Derma Wand twice a day every day you will see improvement and it take a few months before you see a difference.

anonymous: I don't get all the negative comments. Granted, the derma wand is not guaranteed to work on everyone, but I've had great results. people think I'm maybe in my 50's and I'm really 62. I have noticed a definite tighening and getting rid of lines. Also my skin has become so very soft. I haven't had any problems with the derma wand so I think it's a great product. It works for me!

Lolita: I've been using Derma Wand for over a month now and my pores are smaller and my face is smoother. I put Bio Oil on my face first before I do the routine. I spend around 20 minutes EVERYDAY. It kills my pimples too by zapping them 10 times with high intensity. They disappear in a day without breaking out. The sad thing is my Derma Wand just broke. I will see how easy it is to have it exchanged.

angella: lotions and potions have their limits, even this sc*my blog that is trying to advertise their product bellnex or whatever it is called. ladies, I am a surgical nurse for a plastic surgeon, and I can tell you that derma wand absolutely does increase collagen production by stimulating the periphereal circulation, that means firmer skin and lessening of wrinkles. we use it in our practice and I love my dermawand and the lifting firming and toning it gives me as well. and absolutely use it to control acne, 3 times a day for acne. this is science not magic, Use derma wand daily to increase collagen production and the collagen will start to restructure the contour of your skin. yes rebuilding collagen takes a few weeks and you need to continue the application to experience optimum results. derma wand is not plastic surgery but it does more than any cream or lotion can do. It stimulates and causes a controled assault under the skin(which is not painful) and this forces the body to go into wound healing response. this means new collagen, this means younger looking skin. Acne, wrinkles, saggy skin, puffy eyes, nancy reagan hands.. all will be helped with dermawand

ANGELFACE 63: HAD MINE FOR YEARS - APPARENTLY I LOOK 15 YEARS YOUNGER THAN I AM + I HAVE SUN DAMAGE - OVER 60 THANX DERMAWAND. ps-I use it when time permits!

Lizshanti: For all those disappointed in Dermawand. I am a Licensed Esthetician and have been using the Suzanne Somers Facemaster system (it's an electronic muscle stimular) for the face & eyes. It works, it is safe. I use it every three or four days to maintain my 60 year old skin, especially under the chin and for the eyebrow & hoods of the eyes. It is fabulous. She backs up her products. It's a little pricey, about $200. but I think QVC let's you do flex pay, and around the holidays, you may get free shipping. It delivers results on the first use. I am a satisfied customer.

desertlover: I am sooo glad this site exists. I just saw the ad on HSN and was considering shelling out $70 plus tax...free shipping. They are excellent at what they do...separating you from your money. Apparently, like so many products, this doesn't do anything. Thank you, ladies for posting your experiences. I'm sure you have helped thousands of women who just haven't taken the time to thank you.

LADYSUNSHYNE: To those of you that didnt get the results you were looking for i feel so bad,but i hope this help you.I do facials and I invest in products that I feel i can profit from.First, I try the product and if it work I use it on my clients,if not, I give it the boot.DermaWand has worked great for me and my clients that receive this particular facial love it.Sometimes a dvd is not enough info to help you.Sometimes you may have to use other products as well depending on your skin type.Me,personally,I have beautiful skin but some areas need attention such as lines around my eyes and my pores.I believe if someone took the time to show you the proper products to use in compliance with this, and how to properly care for your skin, you would change your mind.I hope this blog help you, because it is a bad feeling to spend your money and not be satisfied.Find out what you need to use to help boost this and trust, you will change your mind afterf a couple of weeks. It works, but not alone.

Anonymous: When i seen the commercial i got excited. A family member of mine owns a salon and has the large machine that dera wand mentioned ( not sure of the name) anyway sounded great i called and ordered the free trial and eneded up geting approached with all kinds of other offers . I basically called a telemarketer instead of them calling me . I canceled my order right away and got nervous because they already recieved my credit card number so i called right back to to get customer service numer and called them and there night time machine had been on all day s have never got through to them im now watching my bank account closely .. be weary everone !!

Eileen: Thanks to everyone for all your comments. I was considering purchasing the Dermawand, and I'am so glad I came here first. I will NOT be making that purchase! What a god awful waste of money. In this economy, no one can aford to waste money on bad junk. I've been using Strivectin and Roc's Retinol creams together for just over 6 months and have had rather good results. Not instant, and not very dramatic (like some claim in their products commercials), but the results have been significant; about a 40-45% reduction in wrinkle depth and a good 50-60% improvement in the brightness and texture of my skin. A 4 oz. tube of Strivectin lasts me 4 months, and a 1 oz. tube of Roc Retinol cream lasts me about 6-7 weeks. I get both at CostCo at 2 for the price of one, so I actually spend several hundred dollars less every six months than I did using Loreal's group of face creams.

mel: i love it. my skin feels tighter and clearer. my friends notice my skin is so much better than before. look younger too....

Derma Wand®

With global warming and the reduction in the ozone, it seems that skincare is more important than ever before. Aging also plays a huge role in skin health, as does diet and environmental toxins. Many of us may book a trip to the dermatologist when we start to see signs of wrinkles or skin blemishes. Others may turn to the holistic market where some really effective elements are available, such as Matrixyl 3000® and Argireline, which have become heavily sought after due to their direct ability to affect the appearance of wrinkles.

However, many home care kits and appliances have emerged that claim to be able to assist users in boosting skin health and reducing the signs of aging and sun damage. Derma Wand® may be one of these products. We believe that these types of devices may be highly effective, when they use the best technology available, and are combined with a good skincare regimen. Let’s take a look at the Derma Wand® to see what it may have to offer.

 Product at a Glance
Derma Wand® may be a hand held device, which may have been developed to enable individuals to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and the appearance of skin folds by using thermal energy. Its developers also suggest that it may be used to ease other issues, such as enlarged pores and puffy eyes. The skincare market is rather competitive these days, so many individuals have seen these kinds of claims made over and over again, often by both products that may produce results, and those that may not. It may actually be the technology that is used that tells the true story of a product’s effectiveness, so let’s take a look to see what Derma Wand® may have to offer.

 Product in Focus
Derma Wand® may be applied directly to the skin, and may be purported to be a smaller replica of a corrective technology used by skin care professionals. This device is said to apply thermal energy and oxygen to the individual’s skin in order to augment "tissue warming," which may be purported to assist in restoring skin health. The oxygen produced by Derma Wand® may be used to aid in the purifying and retexturing of the skin. They indicate that this may then cause the skin to lift and have a more contoured appearance to ease fine lines, wrinkles and the appearance of skin folds, while also potentially easing puffy, tired eyes.

 Lifestyle
When you read through the information posted on the website, Derma Wand® may sound great. It may be easy to assume that the technology it uses may be backed up by science. However, the truth is that there may be very little research available on this site, or online in general, that supports this developer’s claim that oxygen may smooth away wrinkles like magic. We would have liked to have seen some research posted on this site to support its potential use in this arena.

We feel that this may not be an unrealistic expectation; many websites that market the more effective formulas for skin care may provide this information. For instance, Matrixyl 3000®, an element that may be used in some very effective anti-aging formulas, has been shown in clinical studies to decrease the density, volume and depth of wrinkles. It may also increase Collagen production in some individuals. In one study, it may have been shown to decrease wrinkle density by 33% and reduce wrinkle depth by 20%. These kinds of results may not be available for Derma Wand®.

 Positives
• May be offering a free trial
• May be pleasurable

 Negatives
• May not have clinical studies to support its effectiveness
• May not be a proven technology

 Final Thoughts
Many individuals may like how devices, such as the Derma Wand®, feel on our faces, as they often feel like they may be producing results. However, this product may not be proven to be effective in terms of increasing skin health, or easing wrinkles, fine lines or skin folds. We would have welcomed an opportunity to review data on the Derma Wand®; however, there is none to review, which is in stark contrast with elements such as Matrixyl 3000®, which may have been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging.
